Named as one of the eight Wonders of Wales with a drop of 80 meters Pistyll is Britains tallest waterfall.
I found this location by searching for a waterfall as my college group were heading off to Badger waterfall, and I had been there before, I wanted a new challenge. Getting to Pistyll was a challenge in itself with a four-mile single track drive up the side of a mountain on a single track road. The hour forty-five-minute journey to this place was worth it as it truly is an amazing place to sit and contemplate the meaning of life. The weather was very good to me with heavy cloud as I travelled there but, after a quick coffee at the small tea shop, the clouds parted to show some beautiful blue sky with white fluffy clouds. Just as I was due to leave the heavens opened again and it rained for most of my journey home.
The size of this fall is not realised until you see a person halfway up on a small plateau, you then realise the majesty and size of this place. A place I hope to visit again in the future.
